The Nigerian Navy is partnering the International Committee of Red
Cross to train its personnel on international arms law and conflict
resolution. Commandant, Nigerian Navy College in Onne, Atiku Abdulkadir
said this while declaring open a three-day naval training in Rivers
State.
He said the exercise will focus on
counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency. According to him the naval
headquarters sought the help of the ICRC, on realization of the need for
the nation’s armed forces to act in line with International
Humanitarian and Human Rights Laws.
