The United States has commended Nigeria's approach towards preventing
an outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease, describing it as exemplary.
Speaking in Abuja yesterday at an event where the World health
Organisation declared Nigeria Ebola free, Pauline Harvey from the US
Centre for Disease Control said the world must learn from Nigeria's
efforts in containing the disease.
The disease gained entry into
the country in July when Liberian, Patrick Sawyer, came in on diplomatic
assignment. Stake holders at the event called for vigilance at the
nation's entry points to prevent another outbreak of the disease.
