A Malaysian diplomat,
wanted by the New Zealand authorities on allegations of attempted rape
in the city of Wellington in May, has been extradited.
Muhammad Rizalman bin Ismail will arrive in Wellington on Saturday.
Shortly after he was charged with burglary and assault with intent to rape, Mr Muhammad Rizalman left for Malaysia claiming diplomatic immunity.
The move sparked outrage in New Zealand. Malaysia later promised to send him back to face his charges.
A Malaysian government spokesman told The Star that he is being escorted by two New Zealand police officers and two Malaysian defence ministry staff.
